Living in this popular  area of South Dorset,  and not far from the Fleet and Chesil Beach which are part of the lovely Jurassic coastline,  there are  plenty of inspirational and beautiful views to inspire.   Excitement is building locally in anticipation of the Olympic sailing events in 2012 which will  be held in Weymouth and Portland waters and Weymouth Yacht Club and Castle Cove club are looking forward to greeting sailors from around the world.

The  picture on the previous page, - `Flotsum and jetsum` was painted many years ago - before life`s daily round  over took and my brushes were set aside.
I  studied art at College and taught it in school , whilst down the years much of my reading and viewing has been art based so that techniques have been learned and styles of various artists and masters have spurred me - now well into retirement -  to begin again.

Cyclamen  oil on canvas - (not for sale).

These days there is time to wander with my canine friends along the shore of the  Fleet and  Chesil beach,  which are on my doorstep, or to go off into the Dorset forests wander along the endless pathways and enjoy the lovely countryside.
Nature in all its moods,
light on sea and forest, and the ever changing beauty of the sky, have always held great fascination for me and are a spur to get back and pick up the brushes.
Sometimes a single garden flower shining in the sun can have the same effect - the sheer simple beauty of each bloom.  All such wanderings lead me to
once more  enjoy  painting  which has been frustratingly set aside for so long.

All of these are unique paintings done when and as the spirit moved!

I hope you enjoy looking at and perhaps purchasing one as much as I have weilding the brushes.
The enclosed photographs are my very amateur efforts  but a good grasp of the  paintings should be possible from them.
