The Fleet is a part of the World Heritage coastline of Dorset, and is a site of special scientific interest as well. It is a truly beautiful and peaceful place The flat bottomed rowing boats have been used by local people for generations to cross over to Chesil beach . When the tide is out the mud flats stand like fields above the water and getting stuck on them can mean a long wait for the returning tide |
